Physics Art collection: when physics becomes art.

Oil and acrylic on canvas, 70 x 50 cm. Year 2009

Painting published on the Mondadori Modern Art Catalogue 2012.

In the painting the artist idealizes a parallelism between the ties of atoms and those of colors.

Under particular conditions, atoms of chemical elements, moving in the space, meet atoms of other chemical elements and join to form new elements with new ties.

Such new elements, in turn, can join other atoms to form other new elements, and so on.

In the same way, colors, moving on canvas meet other colors, bind to them and form new colors.

The latter in turn begin their lives on canvas, meet other colors, form new ties and generate new colors and so on.

In the end you’ll have the whole palette, as well as in chemistry – physics you get to have the range of all the elements.

Sizes of colors are different too, starting from primary colors, passing from secondary ones, tertiary, etc….

This subdivision has physical meaning, considering three primary colors such as particles constituting the atom (proton, neutron and electron), from which atoms of all elements are generated.

Canvas background is gold, which ideally has the catalyst function in the ties.

The word “Legami” (in english Ties), present in the center of the painting, is made with a phosphorus gel that, after absorbing the light of day, in the dark lights up turquoise.

“Physics Art” brings the physics laws inside art. Through painting, physics finally becomes art, in particular the cause and effect art, applied to colors, using the perfect physics and mathematics language.
